Inspiration of Mechanization: From Maximization to Optimization

More work, better, quicker and cheaper! This is the description of farm-tractors in one of the oldest ads by the first tractor-manufacturing company Hart-Parr; and these were the helms of sailing ship called "mechanization". We started using tractors because we needed to produce more, save time. After about 125 years we have faced with the situation, when we know there is limit to how much petrol and diesel we have to feed our tractors. We have realized that use of tractor has negative impact on soil of health. At the same time, we know it's not practical to just shift back to the farm-equipment that were used ages ago.
I saw this sowing machine in a village of Wardha District in Maharashtra. This sowing machine can be driven by the bullocks, and at the same time, it needs only one person to operate while sowing. This way, farmers will be able to avoid use of the tractors, while, at the same time, be able overcome the limitation of old-age sowing equipment which required more time and human-resource.
I believe, this equipment is a very good representative example of what today's technology should look like.
